Streetfest 2021 is slated as a fundraising celebration of the small community of Celestine, Indiana. This celebration will find the entire area gathering again to see one another after the pandemic.

The one-day event will be held on the grounds of St. Celestine Church on Saturday, June 26th with the gorgeous scenery of the rolling hills of Celestine on full display. Streetfest 2021 is free to attend. Parking and beer garden access are also free. It is an all-ages-friendly event with fun for the whole family!

Saturday's activities begin with a 5K race (and free Kids Fun Run), a tractor show, and a car show in Celestine Park. Kids games, races, tractor pull, and inflatables get started at 10 am.  Midday activities include a free community scavenger hunt, a sheephead card game tourney, and a performance by The Clogging Clovers featuring local 4H youth.

The food stand will open at 10 am and German Beer Garden opens at noon. The midafternoon features the Dodgeball Tourney and Car Show Awards. Catholic Mass will be held in St. Celestine Church at 4 pm.

Celestine is well regarded for its outstanding history of delicious locally prepared food. This year’s event is focused on easy-to-carry-around classics like Celestine Nachos (fajita beef, pulled pork, or chicken) and tenderloin sandwiches along with hamburgers, bratwursts, chicken sandwiches, and turkey tenders. To make the meal complete, all types of fresh-made sweets and desserts will be sold by local community organizations. The area’s strong German heritage always shows itself through packed attendance at a beloved beer garden through the 1 am closing time.

The “rain or shine" fest is set to be staged on paved parking lots at St. Celestine Church along with other events located at the Celestine Park, and the grounds around the Church.  Huge tents and many tables and chairs will accommodate several thousand guests. Plentiful parking is available in the fields and streets around Celestine with the parking at the top of the west side of St. Celestine Church designated for handicapped and elderly parking.  There is also a drop-off spot at the top of the west side of the church hill.

The fun continues into the evening with the Kids Zone remaining open until 8 pm. Families will be able to enjoy a free magic show on the main stage around 6:15 pm by Magic With Style featuring Bob Ahlemeier.

For the first time, the Celestine Park will recognize their annual Celestine Distinguished Service award winner and other 2021 nominees at Streetfest on the main stage at 6 pm. Past winners will also be recognized and are asked to come to the main stage just before 6 pm.

Streetfest 2021’s main stage headliner is internationally touring Def Leppard tribute band Def Leggend. They will be bringing a huge rock show with them from Dallas, TX, playing authentic versions of all of the Def Leppard classics like Pour Some Sugar On Me, Love Bites, Hysteria, Photograph, Rock of Ages, Rocket, Armageddon It, Let’s Get Rocked, Bringing On The Heartbreak and many many more. The band brings the look and classic rock sound of the 1980’s hitmakers with a setlist focusing heavily on Def Leppard’s enormously successful twin ten million-copy selling albums Pyromania and Hysteria. Def Leppard is the only rock band of the 1980s and newer to have two albums sell over ten million copies. Def Leggend has played events of all sizes in their home state of Texas as well as large festivals all over the US and Mexico.

Def Leggend will be followed by dancing fun with music provided by Celestine party legends Boogie Tunes Entertainment.

The duo of local singer/songwriter Bobby Clark and his guitar partner Tommy Stillwell will be on the main stage from 7 pm until 9 pm before the headliner, Def Leggend. Based in nearby Boonville, IN, Bobby Clark is familiar to annual Streetfest attendees, as he headlined the festivities back in 2015 and was a special guest in 2019. A staple on the Southern Indiana music scene for over 25 years, Bobby Clark has a reputation as an outstanding singer and performer. Known to Mellencamp fans for years, thanks to his family ties to John, Bobby became even more well known when John Mellencamp recorded Bobby's song Grandview and made it the lead single for his Album Sad Clowns and Hillbillies in 2017. Mellencamp turned the song into a duet, on record, with Country Star Martina McBride. Mellencamp’s version garnered a hit country single and video for the song and shared it on numerous TV shows including NBC's Today and The Tonight Show. At a promotional concert in New York City, Mellencamp had Bobby join him on stage to duet on Grandview. The tune was named for a town in Southern Indiana where Clark spent much time. Bobby has released numerous albums, on his own, including his recent 2019 album Circle. Bobby’s musical partner for the evening is Tommy Stillwell who is Southern Indiana’s most revered blues-rock guitarist. A sought-after player for live and recorded performances Tommy’s playing always takes performances to the next level.

Proceeds from the fest will be distributed to the organizations and charities of the Celestine community. The fest leadership team would like to extend their thanks to the large pool of sponsors and volunteers who are coming together to make the fest a success!

Celestine is located in Southwestern Indiana, near Jasper and Patoka Lake, on the eastern edge of Dubois County.

Celestine Streetfest is held annually on the grounds of St. Isidore Parish / St. Celestine Church Campus 6864 E State Road 164, Celestine, IN  47521

Bobby Clark/Singer/Songwriter/Guitar

Bobby Clark is doing what he does best, making great music. Hailing from the outskirts of Evansville, In. He grew up in the belly of the heartland rock world and the songs live up to the lineage. Bobby has lived the life often sung about in his music. The son of a preacher, a man that has made his living of hard work, someone who has clashed with the law and society, Bobby has a song and opinion about every topic, a believer in hard work and sweaty midwestern bar rock, he has honed his craft of writing memorable and catchy rock songs over the years with hundreds of shows under his belt.

With a catalog of over 200 songs. He has come to the attention of midwestern rock lovers nationally and globally as his reviews on his shows attest to. Most notably he came to the attention of rocker John Mellencamp who purchased one of his rootsy, rocking songs "Grandview" which was released in April of 2017 on “ Sad Clowns & Hillbillies” with Martina McBride. His songs tell the all too common story of people in Southern Indian who just want to live a comfortable life rather than one of affluence and the conflict that desire creates. Bobby has focused his work in the past year to prepare for recording a new cd, an album that is sure to captivate and move all who listen. They are a mixture of life itself and the stories that follow the experience and can be related to by anyone. The live shows are where Bobby’s musical wit and talent come alive. Audiences that see Bobby Clark for the first time come away with a relationship that lasts, and the experience of hearing songs that bring out all sides of the adventure we call life.

His most recent cd “Circle” is out now as of April 2019. Bobby has worked with many well know artists along with sharing the stage with them as well. John Mellencamp, Moe Z, Larry Crane, Joanna Dean, Tommy Stillwell, Mike Wanchic, Mitch Ryder Jon E. Gee, Toby Myers, Jimmy Ryser, Dane Clark & many more. Bobby is currently out touring doing live shows, Tv Specials, Radio Interviews & and is back in the studio working on his next project. You can follow Bobby on Facebook, and keep up to date on where he will be next on ReverbNation. Bobby is currently working on a new recording project.. should be available later this year. A single from these sessions, “The Other Side”, will be available soon on iTunes.

Streetfest Returns & Fest Goals

Streetfest returns on Saturday, June 26, 2021, after being canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19. We are confident that we will have another wonderful Streetfest full of fun, fundraising, and fellowship that will look very similar to our highly successful 2019 event. We will take any required COVID precautions we receive from public health officials, but we think it will be a safe and fun day for all with a minimal imposition of COVID-related changes.

Following up on the success of 2019, we continue to see Streetfest as a party that builds a community through bringing people to work and play together, while also raising funds for local organizations! We want to make a profit, we want to have a lot of community fun, and we want to develop leaders and workers for various organizations. Streetfest is an important event for developing pride and unity in the community. We NEED EVERYONE to be involved and feel like they have partial ownership in the event.

Streetfest 2019 Recap

As a reminder, we had a very successful fest in 2019 with great entertainment, fun, and food. Thanks to the great turnout and generous donations of our sponsors we distributed a total of $21,000 in profits in equal $3,500 amounts to the six main organizations that benefit from the fest - Celestine Community Club, Celestine Park, Good Shepherd of the Hills Knights of Columbus Council, Celestine Volunteer Fire Department, Northeast Dubois Elementary Parent Teacher Organization, and St. Isidore Parish. Plus there were several charitable groups that serve the NE Dubois residents who had stands making further profits. This is a huge success for the community to have such a fun & entertainment-filled day while raising a LOT of money for the community.
